All our staff are carefully chosen for their many excellent qualities, experience, personality and most importantly their dedication to and enthusiasm for teaching children. All are fully qualified and our staff to child ratios are:-     

0-2 years 1:3

 2-3 years 1:4

3+  years 1:8

A Home Link Diary is kept to keep you informed about your child’s day. How much they have eaten, when they have slept, what they have enjoyed playing with, even how many nappies they have filled!

The notice board in the entrance will keep you informed of all the key events in nursery; the menu for the week, any nursery trips or visitors and the nursery’s current topic. We welcome the children bringing in objects or books from home relevant to the current topic.

Several times a year parents receive the nursery’s newsletter keeping you up to date with all the latest news and developments. In addition to all this our staff are always happy and available to talk to you on a daily basis.

At First Steps we operate a Positive Behaviour Policy. We praise good behaviour rather than focussing on poor behaviour.
